Trafford Publishing Author’s Corner welcomes Trafford Publishing author Lori Joan Morgan as she shares a little bit about her book Do I Have Friends?. One of the key factors that Morgan tries to emphasize is the requirement of reciprocation to allow for friendships.
How can one have a friend? For the little ones, sometimes they think they don’t have any; until they realize that to have a friend; they need to be a friend. That’s what my book, “Do I Have Friends?” shares through simple words and colorful illustrations.
Just like everyone, Sam, a young horse, wonders if he has friends. I invite young readers to take a walk with Sam and follow him on this journey to find a friend. On his way to the apple orchard, he meets Appy who suggests they invite others. Sam will invite Joanie and Appy will invite Andy to join them at the orchard. At the orchard there is Stanley, someone who just moved there. So by going out into the world instead of keeping to himself, Sam learns that he does have friends – both old and new.
I did this as a class project back in high school and dreamed of getting it published. “It may take a long time to fulfill that dream but don’t give up; just keep on dreaming and one day it can happen.”
